meme, because I need a distraction from my walls

Aug 17, 2013 22:13

I've found this meme on tumblr, but since there's no way I'm going to do thirty graphics for anything, I've decided to post it here. Oh, and it's all at once, just because.

Day 01- A show that should have never been canceled
Common Law (what, it was fun)

Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
The West Wing. The West Wing.

Day 03 - Your favorite new show ( aired this t.v season)
I think the only new show I’ve started watching is The Fosters. It’s nowhere near my all time favorites, but I like it.

Day 04 - Your favorite show ever
The West Wing.

Day 05 - A show you hate
I’ve watched two episodes of Newsroom and wow, I don’t remember being that pissed off at tv show ever before.

Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite t.v show
There was 155 episodes of The West Wing, there’s no way I’m picking one. But Celestial Navigation, Isaac and Ishmael, 20 Hours in America Part Two, Debate Camp, The Supremes, and Tomorrow (and, and, and…) are some of my favorites.

Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite t.v show
There were definitely some I didn’t care about, but again, 155 episodes. I don’t remember what I didn’t like. ;)

Day 08 - A show everyone should watch
There’s not a show that’s good for everyone.

Day 09 - Best scene ever
The snowman in Ally McBeal. Denny’s ghost in the hallway in Grey’s Anatomy. Goodbye made out of stones in M*A*S*H. I don’t know what “best scene ever” is supposed to mean, I picked a few that made me cry. I’m sure there’s many better ones.

Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving
I wasn’t sure I was going to like Battlestar Galactica from the way Cody described it the first time.

Day 11 - A show that disappointed you
Newsroom

Day 12 - An episode you’ve watched more than 5 times
Haha, one?

Day 13 - Favorite childhood show
Dr Quinn, I loved that show as a kid.

Day 14 - Favorite male character
Nate Fick (Generation Kill)
Sam Seaborn (The West Wing)
Sam Winchester from the first two seasons of Supernatural
And I’m not choosing between them.
(Also:
Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce (M*A*S*H)
Jack O’Neill (Stargate SG-1)
… and the list goes on)

Day 15 - Favorite female character
CJ Cregg (The West Wing)
Donna Moss (The West Wing)
Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds)
Donna Paulsen (Suits)
Abby Sciuto (NCIS)

Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure show
I think I’ve watched Brothers & Sisters as a guilty pleasure.

Day 17 - Favorite mini series
Generation Kill (shocked: everyone)

Day 18 - Favorite title sequence
I usually fast forward title sequences, but Strike Back was one of the exceptions, because I loved the song.

Day 19 - Best t.v show cast
I still have a soft spot for Jared and Jensen, so I’m going with Supernatural.

Day 20 - Favorite kiss
I couldn’t think of one, but then I remembered Brian and Justin getting back together in Queer as Folk US (3x08), fiiiiiinally. So let’s go with the most historic reunification since Germany. ;)
Oh, and the first kiss of Sybil and Thomas from Downton Abbey!

Day 21 - Favorite ship
Ugh. Brad/Nate (Generation Kill), still. Ally/Larry (Ally McBeal) as a blast from the past, and from the newer ones - Sterek from Teen Wolf.

Day 22 - Favorite series finale
Tomorrow from The West Wing, maybe?

Day 23 - Most annoying character
From the show I've actually watched more than a couple of episodes of? Gaius from Battlestar Galactica.

Day 24 - Best quote

"Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama: [at Baltar's Trial] Did the defendant make mistakes? Sure. He did. Serious mistakes. But did he actually commit any crimes? Did he commit treason? No. I mean, it was an impossible situation. When the Cylons arrived, what could he possibly do? What could anyone have done?
 [looks at the courtroom audience]
Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama: Ask yourself, what would you have done?
 [looks at the judges]
Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama: What would you have done? If he had refused to surrender, the Cylons would have probably nuked the planet right then and there. So did he appear to cooperate with the Cylons? Sure. So did hundreds of others. What's the difference between him and them? The President issued a blanket pardon. They were all forgiven, no questions asked. Colonel Tigh. Colonel Tigh used suicide bombers, killed dozens of people. Forgiven. Lieutenant Agathon and Chief Tyrol. They murdered an officer on the Pegasus. Forgiven. The Admiral. The Admiral instigated a military coup d'état against the President. Forgiven. And me? Well, where do I begin? I shot down a civilian passenger ship, the Olympic Carrier. Over a thousand people on board. Forgiven. I raised my weapon to a superior officer, committed an act of mutiny. Forgiven. And then on the very day when Baltar surrendered to those Cylons, I as commander of Pegasus jumped away. I left everybody on that planet, alone, undefended, for months. I even tried to persuade the Admiral never to return, to abandon you all there for good. If I'd had my way nobody would have made it off that planet. I'm the coward. I'm the traitor. I'm forgiven. I'd say we are very forgiving of mistakes. We make our own laws now; our own justice. And we've been pretty creative in finding ways to let people off the hook for everything from theft to murder. And we've had to be, because... because we're not a civilization anymore. We are a gang, and we are on the run, and we have to fight to survive. We have to break rules. We have to bend laws. We have to improvise. But not this time, no. Not this time. Not for Gaius Baltar. No, you... you have to die, because, well, because we don't like you very much. Because you're arrogant. Because you're weak. Because you're a coward, and we, the mob, want to throw you out of the airlock, because you didn't stand up to the Cylons and get yourself killed in the process. That's justice now. You should have been killed back on New Caprica, but since you had the temerity to live, we're going to execute you now. That's justice. This case... this case is built on emotion, on anger, bitterness, vengeance. But most of all, it is built on shame. It's about the shame of what we did to ourselves back on that planet. It's about the guilt of those of us who ran away. Who ran away. And we're trying to dump all that guilt and all that shame on one man and then flush him out the airlock, and hope that just gets rid of it all. So that we could live with ourselves. But that won't work. That won't work. That's not justice; not to me. Not to me."
(Battlestar Galactica 3x20)
I’ve seen that scene so many times that even after years, I still remember some of it by heart. Lee <3

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Orphan Black

Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
WTF in a bad way? Battlestar Galactica series finale.

Day 27 - Best pilot episode
Battlestar Galactica: Miniseries (I count the entire miniseries as the pilot)

Day 28 - First t.v show obsession
First in a internet era, fandom-wise etc. - Lost.
But before that, I was watching Ally McBeal and J.A.G. religiously on tv.

Day 29 - Current t.v show obsession
I’m not sure I have a big thing for any show right now :( Unless we’re counting what I’m reading the most fanfiction for - that’d be Sterek (Teen Wolf).

Day 30 - Saddest character death
There was so many deaths on Supernatural, that I don’t even know which one made an impression, tbh. And it’s hard to remember how much I cared about this show once.
But one of the questions reminded me of Denny from Grey’s Anatomy, I’m sure I cried when he died.
