For the love of G-d, people, please vote today. The political game is messy and full of bullshit, but the winners have a huge impact on how we live our lives.
I already voted! Even though I went to the polling site (which is conveniently just the other side of our back fence) around 11:00 am hoping to avoid those who would be voting before going to work, it was crowded. In the past there were always only a handful of voters there and I just breezed in and out. Not this time. The people are stirred up to the boiling point which is healthy in a democracy. Now if we can just hold the nastiness down to a minimum AFTER the votes are counted. But don't hold your breath, people. As Bette Davis said, "Hold onto your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."
Just like with the primary, my absentee ballot arrived in Moscow on the day of the election!!! Thankfully, I went to the U.S. Embassy and did an emergency ballot a week and a half ago. The embassy was going to ship them by express courier to New York last week. Imperfect, but what can you do overseas?
