As they say, the best solution is the simplest one. I've heard how very important it is that I do not cut my wings, and yet those wings are what these 'Malnosso' people gave me. They could just as well be the reason for being captured here.

Has anyone ever tried to cut off their wings?

Maybe death is the way out of here...Where did all the snow ( Read more... )

I'm afraid it's not that simple. I thought about it, but one of the original Filial told me they breathe with their wings. It's how they live. We are, essentially, the exact same creature. When you do cut your wings off, you die. When you die, you just come back. When you come back, you lose something important to you. Whether that be a memory of a loved one, your eyesight, or even how to fight. No one wants to risk that, do you?

The snow? I'm guessing it's the change in seasons, or perhaps another Malnosso experiment. I happen to be enjoying it, however. It's beautiful. I can only hope everyone knows how to stay warm.

How can you be sure everything the Filial told you is true? Are you aware of your 'breathing with your wings', or is it just a hearsay you're going by?

I'm not saying I want to risk anything. Just looking at the 'facts' from all points of view.

There is beauty here, in simple things.

The Filial didn't appear to be lying. They really would have no reason to lie to me, we are all in the same situation. I haven't actually noticed any breathing through my wings, so I am just going by hearsay, but like I said, I have no reason to doubt what they say. It might be different for us, the ones who were changed, but no one has yet to prove that.

I do suppose, but it's the simple things we take advantage of...

I hope what you say will turn out true.

Then I also hope you'll manage to enjoy the winter.

I have been wondering if cutting off our wings will also result in death -- true death, by the standards of this world, and whether or not that will send us home.

Unfortunately, I am not brave enough to try such a maneuver, nor would I ask it of anyone else.

I have to admit that was my first impression, or assumption. Getting back home that way would be too fortunate, I suppose.

I should have probably worded myself differently. I've heard it'll end up in death, but no-one has yet mentioned what actually happens to these people who've lost their wings.

I figure as much. Either way, it's not much to hope for.

As far as I know, there have not been any cases of people losing their wings. Of course, I haven't been here as long as some of the others, so there may have been a case that I am unaware of.

I guess it's better than nothing?

And all the information about losing your wings comes from the original Filial if that'll turn out to be the case. How long have you been here?

I'm Aya. Got a name to go with your picture?
