Songs (B'Way with Bonus Torchwood/Broadway crossover)

I have to have a collection of 4 songs to sing at the end of the term for the Singers Showcase (It's kind of my final for Voice) that I need to start working on now. They need to have variety. So, here's what I'm thinking (not necessarily in this order):

Oh man, "Agony" kills me every time. It's like a Pavlovian reaction. It was good to see after "Anyone Can Whistle."

And "Ain't Misbehavin'" is such a good one, so nice...I think it would work well as your "slower, moodier" piece. Definitely "My New Philosophy," you could really do that one--such a fun song.

If you can do "Rainbow High," it seems like the payoff would be good. On the other hand, you might be able to put your own spin on "Perfect Relationship"...not update it, but give it a little more irony or...zip or something.

Speaking of "Into the Woods," would any of the witch's songs work for you?

I like how despite my attempts to avoid the 800 fanvids Andria put up, you snuck one in anyway ^__^

As for the fanvids, it was either that or teenage girls singing it for recitals or into the camera for no reason other to put it onto youtube. I was hoping, at least, for some lame music video to, say Bernadette Peters or Angela Lansbury - who both played the role - singing. But alas, nothing but two John Barrowman ones and teenagers. I'm not surprised, Anyone Can Whistle tends to be forgotten, but... Well, no, I was surprised.

And in all honesty I haven't watched the full John Barrowman video. I easily lose interest in it. I tried to again, couldn't.

Youtube is so weird like that though. Sometimes I'll look for something that you'd think would definitely be there, but turn up nothing. I don't know if it's copyright issues or what.

My New Philosophy-
-- seems mostly simple (well until it gets stronger later) and fun. plus it has a lot of strength parts and change of persona here there which would be good to show.

Ain't Misbehavin-
well i never liked this type of music but it would probabily be good to do esp if you trust your teacher's opinion.

Its a Perfect Relationship-
it seems a bit similiar to the one above it. however, this one is all happy and euphoric so it could be good to do both to show the ability to do the emotional difference. and it would be fun to do i think.

Rainbow High-
well i love this song. and i think of you think should wait to do it then do so. cause i think you should do this song once you really are ready and proud to do it. i think its a great song to sing no matter what though but you have to make sure you deliever it (though of course thats true with all songs but i think its more important with this one).

well you said his is easier so i dont know..but i do know that video sucks. i hope you appreciate my work more now.

Agony -
i think you should do it for the sole fact you love ti so much and so it would make you happy. plus of course its a good song. would you be singing both parts then? and of course youd have to be able to kepp a straight face and one of "agony" whie singing this instead of cracking up ep if your audiance does so it woill be good. plus you got the ahhahhhahhh parts.

Agony Reprise-
same as above mostly. though part two is more dialougy then the first. however if i had to pick i think this one would be the better to do.

Hello, Little Girl-
heh heh heh. the thing about laughing implies here too. i think for those savoring emotions would be good to sing as well as trying to be charming, enticing, forceful... so for the acting aspect this one is the best.

How is it my fault that you don't read what I write? It says in the post that those are for fun. I appreciate your thought, but I put in the post that those were just because I liked those songs. I don't think Sarah had the same misunderstanding...
