Ondaatje is always so quotable. I think one of my favourite poems, other than the more obvious Cinammon Peeler, is "7 or 8 Things I Know About Her (A Stolen Biography)," which is one of those things I wish I had written so much it hurts, a sentiment of warmth and glowing inadequacy I rarely feel even if I enjoy something. He is very good at writing on scars and histories of every persuasion.

I've never read that before...thanks for sharing! I'm not entirely sure what compelled me to post this! I was too tired to write anything of my own, and it's one of my favorite quotes of all time, so I suppose I just thought I'd share it :)
