i hope you dont mind me asking
because i love this style of icon, but i am new to the icon making

i got the original pic all set, and sized to 65x65
and then do i open that texture, or do i copy it in?
and then once i get it there, i can get rid of the circle but then how do i drag the pic under it?
i hope im making sense :/

any help would be great ♥

You copy the texture and then you go to:
File->New and then a window should pop up and set the settings to 100x100 pixels.
And then past the texture in the 100x100 icon you just created.

Then you go to your 65x65 icon and grab your move tool and then move your icon in the 100x100 icon with the texture. And then drag it under the texture.
I hope this helps a bit here is also a picture of my layerlist:

Your welcome, I'm just glad I could help! ;)

Well you dont really need a dark picture, you could also lower the opacity from the first Brightness/Contrast layer? Maybe that also helps.
Thanks, and I would love to see what you've made of it. ;)
