I have a lot of respect for Ben Stein, he's undoubtably brilliant, and has a large amount of political experience. Like George Bush however, I believe he tends to forget the poor need help, as so many of the people who "failed to evacuate" in New Orleans did.
As far as point 12, I hope never again to have to decide between rushing someone to the hospital and losing my lease again, like so many poor people.
Colin Powell was right, race wasn't the problem, the poor were forgotten, as they always have been.
