Musical Lettering

Jun 15, 2010 08:34

I have been trying to figure out all morning why the music lettering system that we use is based on the A Minor scale. I tried Wikipedia, but hit a dead end. Can anyone explain this bit of historical accident to me?

Dunno but A (natural, pentatonic) Minor is the most common scale in worldwide music and sounds great too. Pentatonic natural minor is the best. Rockman 2's entire soundtrack (except Crashman) is in natural pentatonic minor.
