For the past week I have had two pulled tendons. One in my left arm, from excessive stress from chin ups. One also in my left leg from excessive kicking and a combination of a few quick sprints on the bike ( Read more... )

I was supposed to play the game. I was taking lotsa acid and e around that time. And bought all the dragons and griffins.

I tried painting them but failed miserably. So I got Angie to paint some, man she is good at it!

But she was taking acid too by the time she started painting. Then i got stroppy that she was spending too much time painting my miniatures and not enough time worhsipping me.

So they have been sitting there, unused and gathering dust. I have like the entire army.

See what happens kids when you do drugs?

Damn.. That was my fault.

At least some of yours got painted. Mine never did. Can't even remember what I had.
Maybe I should've taken drugs to paint. As if there weren't enough reasons already.

I find it supicious when people deny such an expectation is comparible to that of a prostitute.

In fact, I see a prostitute as more autonomous than the female portrayed on the advertisement.

other than asserting commercialism and dominant male hegemony... if the bitch wants to complain, let her. it's not as if you don't complain about stupid and useless things. i think she get far better results by smacking him around than complain, but... she's not. she's making a remark that her partner is far to involved in his own life to respect the mutuality of a home, and contribute to it his forte in life that is designing.

I am less concerned with the roles than with the symbolism behind the complaint. There is no suggestion he is too involved, as the persepctive comes from his partner. Who may be, on all accounts, someone who marries an architect because of what he provides. Rather than who he stands for. All I am saying, is that this, is a form of prostitution.

okay. I was just feeling aggressive. but who the fuck whores themself for a kitchen? and ... of course the perspective comes from the partner - few people consider that they are really doing less than is necessary around their nest. would you denegrate yourself in that respect, and say that you lead the wrong kind of life?

I never said that such a lifestyle is wrong. Just as I would never fall into the trap of labelling my own life, right. My statement was that if I heard a partner refer to me as an "architect" (which denotes an expectation from his position from an economical viewpoint) I would be repulsed by it. Right or wrong.

I am sure there are people who whore themselves for kitchens and nice houses.

My original statement was that I was repulsed by that sort of attitude, but see no reason why you would get so aggressive about it.

I've heard of this sort of thing plenty of times. A friend of mine's husband is a builder/ handyman, yet he contributes nothing to his own home. He does his job all week and on weekends works on mates houses for free, but never actually achieves anything at his own place, which just shits my friend off bad.....

I enjoy cleaning other people's houses but not my own. The guy probably uses his work for isolation... perhaps his wife disturbs the "zen" of his pace... making the work at home, unbearable and distracting.

Not making excuses, just placing a possibility into the mix.

How be you?

Oh no, I worded that wrong. He does clean, but won't build/ fix/ construct anything.

I was making a comparison to why he does not fix around the house.
