Mirror, Mirror

It was a somewhat odd Mirror, Mirror event.  People weren't feeling themselves, sicknesses, allergies, late arrivals, non-arrivals, a lot of people going to bed early, missing people due to conflict with Aralis, cold weather, full moon.  It all added up to an event that was not bad, but strange ( Read more... )

Very weird about the apathy jag! That's so not like you. Sounds like exhaustion (on various levels) to me...

It was great seeing you! I was sorry we didn't run into each other much for the first half of the weekend, but glad we got to spend some time later. I really enjoyed our conversation about service, and I'm always happy to wind up next to you in the line -- even though it's still kind of surreal to see you up there!

I'm sorry the event started out so rocky for you, but I'm really glad you stayed! Getting to RP with you on sunday and hear how Kumir was processing some of the things that had happened was one of the highlights of my weekend. Glad to hear that shadow play and Bai Hu went over well :3

You should understand that it was nothing about the game or the plot or anything staff did that caused it. I had a good enough time Friday night. This was clearly an internal issue with me that I have not figured out completely. I too am glad I got on with the weekend though because there was some fantastic stuff out there.

Speaking of which, who was behind the curtain with you? You two were just marvelous in reacting to the stories.

Glad it went uphill for you! I sometimes find events without all my usual friends around to be really challenging.

Jim (Averik/Vincent) was the one doing shadow play with me. He's kind of a rockstar.

I really just had no desire to get up and play the game.

I hit that wall Saturday afternoon, and managed to hike my way through it. Very glad I did. :o)

This and this.

to say nothing of Kumir's actual healing

I hear Kumir's a front-line fighter at Mirror Mirror! Healing is incidental. :)

couldn't even work up the desire to get out of bed

That is one of the forms a 'donwanna' will manifest in, for me. Insufficient sleep makes that form particularly likely. Glad you beat that one, with some help, and I hope you got some rest over the weekend, somehow.

Who spreads these ugly rumors?

I think this is a big part of it. I've been chatting about it with JJ and we have some other theories too.

Who spreads these ugly rumors?

They keep turning up here, in this very journal! (And occasionally at Madrigal staff meetings.)

I'm so glad the rest of the event went well after you got up Saturday. I was rather worried about you, and that you were going to have a lousy time after I kind of made you get back into game. I probably wouldn't have actually stolen your street clothes if you had decided to leave. Probably.

No, you definitely made the right call. Kumir is one of those characters that you can't help but get into once you put on the costume. Everything about him forces you to change your way of thinking and acting. Thank you.
