Band: 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera)
Song: 月の砂 (Tsuki no Suna)

Sand of the Moon
lyrics: Sono // music: Ayame

Words scatter   with a dry sound
The words you spoke   words that piled up in my heart
My reasons of living   they're washed away in the wind
Just like sand   leaving nothing but their shadow 1The cloudy sky of midwinter   is like a grey cover ( Read more... )

It has really been a while!! xDD Welcome back!!

Well, I can't compare it with the Japanese lyrics since I can't understand them, but I think you did a really good work!! It's really pretty!! *-*

Haha yeah, I fail to keep up a steady flow of translations, I always have these periods when I translate a whole lot and then spend a month or two without translating anything at all. XD

Thank you! That's nice to hear :) I'm always worried about how the English sounds to other people, since I always find it kind of hard to view it from an objective point of view. That's why I often wait a couple days or at least a few hours before I proof read the English versions, so I can think about it more in English than Japanese, if that makes any sense :D

Everyone has their life, so it’s normal xD

I’ve always told you that better this that nothing and that I’m not English, so I’m not the best person to say it, but I read a lot of English things and I think you really do a great work in every translation you do. It’s normal that sometimes you think that your translation don’t do justice to the original, but even the best translator will never be able to translate all the feelings that the artist/writer wanted to show in his writing.
Really, you shouldn’t worry about that.

xDD It should be hard to think of what are they saying in Japanese and after a few minutes try to think about it in English. I have problems sometimes to separate French and English and even though it’s not the same (mine it’s easier) I can somehow understand you xD

Yeah, and I'm just lazy like that sometimes. XDDD;

Thank you so much! That's really nice to hear! I see a lot of translations around where the English is eitehr plain wrong or just sounds really weird, so I'm always worried I do the same mistakes, because Japanese simply doesn't translate very well into English -- especially if someone like me who's been studying only 4 years by herself is trying. Haha. Then again, I've been reading Japanese books translated to English recently, and in one of them the translator noted that he's left some sentences away and changed some a lot, because they wouldn't make any sense to the English speaker -- that shows even professional translators have problems translating Japanese to English sometimes!

Yeah, it is hard to keep them separate! Something that makes sense in Japanese might not make any sense translated literally into English, but I keep thinking it makes sense in English too because I know what it's supposed to mean. I wonder if that made any sense.. XD

Wow.. such beautiful lyrics.
And it's actually quite scary how I relate to them so well.
Gives even more to an already so beautiful song^^;

Thank you for translating!

I know the feeling, I've been recently going through some rough times and I can say these lyrics could have been written by myself, only I couldn't write them in such a beautiful way XD But really, the story is something I can relate to 100%. It was one of my favourites on the album before too, and now I love it even more.

No problem :3

Thank you so much for the translation. ♥ This song is so incredibly beautiful. (T - T)
Someone seems to have painted my heart
With repeated strokes and made a mistake
I really love these two lines...! D: ♥
