Aftermath

The only company she has on the way back are the street lights. The road is practically deserted, and no one is keeping up the same speed she is.

Akira makes a note in the back of her head as she rides away from the overpass. Where it is, how long it takes to get there, and where it leads to. Of all the ways to cool her head, she wasn't expecting something like that. Going off what the Mia woman said, it's supposed to be a meeting place. That she and others find by accident.

The idea is almost as ridiculous as having the head of a student body run around brainwashing other schools. By now, she should be used to weird things happening.
Akira leans to the side to round a corner as she thinks that, and coaxes the bike to go a bit faster. With all the time she spent at the Nexus, Daigo is probably home by now.

The engine growls in protest before it shifts into the next gear. She frowns when she hears the noise, making the mental note to examine that as well. Then she crouches lower as the bike picks up speed. The highway, already going by quickly, starts to blur and form a tunnel around the edges of her vision. In spite of the rush to get back to see her brother, she feels a surge of euphoria. This is better then flying, or any other dream someone can think of.

Other then the complaint of putting out more speed, the bike handles beautifully. She makes several hard turns before letting off on the gas, and allowing the machine to slow down. By the time she's back to a reasonable speed, she's been twenty minutes off the main roads and at the edge of their block.

One more corner rounded with a satisfying screech-

And she sees her brother, standing outside and waiting. That feeling of carelessness gets wiped clean instantly when she sees his face. After living with him for sixteen years, she's gotten good at telling his moods by looking at him. And judging by the set of his jaw, he isn't happy about something.

It's equal parts skill and miracle that she's able to straighten the motorcycle without any damage, or more noise then usual. It takes a moment of fumbling under his eyes before she can kill the engine, and pulls her helmet off.

"G…Good evening. I was trying to come back as fast as I could, so…" She trails off when he puts a hand off her shoulder.

"Do you need any help bringing that inside? We need to talk when you're done."

Akira nods dumbly to both parts, and swings a leg over the side. She doesn't need to do more then guide the bike inside, now that her brother is pushing it. He doesn't meet her eyes as he pushes, and just looks straight ahead as he starts speaking.

"It's about where you're going next…"
