The next time Mia checks her messages, there's an odd looking new letter waiting in her inbox.

Miss Fey, this is from Kazama. I remember that you said you like bikes. And...I was wondering, would you mind looking after mine for a while? I won't be able to ride it for now, and I'd prefer having it under good care then just leaving it to gather ( Read more... )

Nexus technology is rather impressive, as Mia gets this message routed from her inbox to her PINPoint. Beside the point that the Japanese portion of the email confuses her [she's only able to read an inkling of it], Mia is happy to be receiving a message from Kazama.

Even though Mia's currently spending her evening enjoying the comfort of sake [due to Nexus troubles], she manages a response back within minutes.

Kazama,

It's good to hear from you again, and I hope things are going well for you. I'd be happy to watch over your bike for you while you're busy with other things. If you have a time and place you want to meet, I'll be happy to assist you.

I've listed my cell phone number below, if you wish to call me right now to arrange things. Or ask any questions.

There's a moment of blinking when Akira sees the number; she's not familiar with that area code. The big block of English text on the bottom is also unusual. Still, she doesn't waste any time punching in the number on the apartment phone. (And really hopes that this isn't going to be a long distance call.)

She also jumps the gun if/when she hears someone answer the line. "Fey-san?" At least she hasn't forgetten to make sure her voice sounds rough around the edges.

It's a special Nexus area code, perhaps? Who knows? The call apparently gets through and after two rings, someone on the other end picks up. But before Mia gets the chance to say hello, Kazama's voice overrides her own.

"Kazama, is that you? Your voice sounds a little different..." It does, really, but maybe it's the phone line that's causing that to happen. The Fey-san greeting surprises her as well, but Mia lets it go without question.

There's a long, long pause on the other end of the line.

And then, very hesitantly, the speaker starts again. There's a definite accent to their English, and their voice does sound different then usual. A little less rough, slightly more melodic.

"Y-yes. This is Kazama. You...You speak Engrish?" Oh, how she MANGLES that last word. The letter L has always been a challenge for her.

((:3 Of course!))

A part of Mia hates pulling out details and such while outside of the courtroom. But it's a habit that's hard to break regardless of her position.

"It's no trouble at all. We're friends, after all, and I intend to respect that bond between us." She's knows that the gesture is probably unnecessary, but Mia does so anyways. One hand is gently placed on Kazama's shoulder, while a calm smile still rests on her face.

"Ah, so you are from Japan then. Well, whichever name you prefer, that's what I'll use. In fact, you don't have to call me Miss Fey all the time; Mia works just as well to me."

Well, that does help her relax a little, and even manage a small smile. It's probably a combination between the word 'friends' and the pat on the shoulder.

"Yes, Miss...Mia. Akira is fine for me." She pauses at that, and drums her fingers on the side of her helmet.

"If I was going to meet with you again, how would I do that? The portal that I did use to get here I needed my bike for, so..."

"Alright then. When it's just us together, I'll call you Akira. I figure you'll want to keep the disguise going while in the Nexus, so I won't ruin that for you."

Mia thinks about her question for a moment, and produced a rather cliche and overused answer. "Well, you can always acquire a PINPoint. I know that they can take a person anywhere and anyplace with no trouble at all. Or...if you permit it, I could try and drive you back home. It's not like I've never driven a bike before."

The hand is removed from the other girl's shoulder at this time. "It's whatever plan you think will work best."

"Ah...Alright. Yes, thank you." For the time being, she isn't rushing to put her helmet back on.

Mia's answer earns a puzzled look.

"A...What? Do those give you random pin numbers?" She's having a hard time seeing how that could be useful.

"Only if you're comfortable with driving it. And, you'd be on the opposite side of the road." If they do go through with that plan, she'd like Mia to have fair warning.
