Today's rant is entitled: Get a Clue, Lane Bryant.
Lane Bryant is a store that caters specifically to fat women. So I ask, why would they make all their dresses with silkly CLINGY material? Does this make sense? Do I need a dress to cling to my middle? NO. But that is ALL they have.
I'm trying to find a dress to wear to the opera next week, and the co-worker's wedding next weekend. I found a relatively nice dress at Lane Bryant. It was hot pink (website says it's Dark Berry) and it had a crisscross satin thingie at the chest. That part looked great. I am pretty well developed. However, the rest of it was.. that's right..CLINGY. It might have looked alright one size up, but no store in a fifty mile radius has them above 18/20. The top would have been big, but hopefully the bottom would'nt have been so freaking see thru.
I'd also like to add, why the fuck does the Lane Bryant in Millbury not carry dresses?
While I am on this rant, I'd also like to know who thinks that fat people will like to wear the prints that I see all over the store these days. You don't see these disgusting prints when you walk thru Macy's or Filene's. But what pisses me off more than the poor cloth choices, is the Lane Bryant Catalog.
That's right Lane Bryant Catalog people. I am speaking to you. What's the deal with having a catalog for FAT women and using thin models? Do you think we do not notice that the clothing is hanging off their bodies? If I am debating buying from the catalog (and I advise you not to, the material is not the same) I'd like to see how it'd look on a body like mine. Not Naomi Campbell's. (Note: Naomi Campbell does not model for Lane Byrant)
So now there are two companies on my shit list:
Lane Bryant
and GH. (yes I'm still on that tear too.)
