He's probably traveling. Reception can get kind of sketchy out there at times.

I haven't seen any towers or other signs of amplifying a signal so that does make sense. I will keep watch for communication from him then.

It's usually good in the towns though. But by then you are distracted by stocking up and resting to really pay attention. [well for Chie at least.]
