The people at less wrong point out it's not actually expensive at all, it's basically life insurance with some specific stipulations.

Of course freezing yourself in your prime with nothing wrong with you is dumb and currently illegal since it's technically (And probably literally) assisted suicide, but the preservation after death thing seems reasonable.

Currently there are no cryonics facilities in Europe that I'm aware of but if in the future they open one it might be interesting to look at the kinds of insurance companies they work with.
