Having only played the first game, I've never been much of a Devil May Cry fan or anything, but I still think the redesign is ridiculous. Unless that's totally not Dante, then I guess its okay.
I thought Heavenly Sword sucked, so I'm not overly impressed with Ninja Theory, although I'm willing to give any developer a chance. Although, still, WTF on that redesign. I totally understand where the fandom is coming from on this one.
Apparently Capcom told Ninja Theory, "Do something that would make us angry with you." And that's what we got.
The guy who's the director's an idiot though. Every interview I've watched or read he's said the same thing. Something about using the punk movement in England in the 70s and it also really doesn't help that the new design looks suspiciously like the director.
So the fandom's like... it's a self insert! A Twilight game...
It's an origin story, so I'm keeping an open mind.
I will say that I'm sick and tired of games with this theme. Dirty street kid being imprisoned by mysterious organization. I dunno. I'm rambling at this point. x_x

The fandom freaking out? That's funny. It's almost as funny as when Merry changed their name from kanji to english and then went to Free Will.
