i know how you feel, but since i went to us with bunch of japanese kids. i didnt feel sadness, loneliness or something like that.
talk to your host family, homestaymate?, and me~~~ of course~~!! it takes time, but once you go over it, you will enjoy your life in japan hontoni and i hope so!!
all of experiences will not useless 頑張ってね!!

Just enjoy all your experiences. And know all the fun you will have and all you will learn.
