Ran Everest on my desktop and all 4 GPUs and Diodes are running over 86c under load. Bought an external HDD so I could back up all my shit that I needed before my computer goes boom for good. =\
JUST the GPU is overheating? (What card do you have?) :) Make sure the fan is still spinning efficiently (I've had a few die on me, and it just overheated and overheated until display corruption started...) Take a can of compressed air, and blow out the heatsink's and fans to make sure there's no dust blocking it. If its still overheating, or starting to corrupt your display, just get a new graphics card.
Now if it were your CPU, I'd say take the heatsink off, clean it good with compressed air, and clean the old goop off the cpu and bottom of heatsink, then re-apply some better thermal compound on the cpu. That always lowers ones temps (though really only needs to be done once.)

Good luck!
