あけましておめでとうごあいます。
Welcome to 2022, everyone. May this year be at least slightly better than the last.We didn't do anything special to celebrate new years. We relaxed in a warm scented bath, made Temaki-sushi and Miso soup for dinner, and then Ryu watched TV while I took a nap. He woke me up at 5 minutes till midnight to do the countdown together and ( Read more... )

Let me just tell you my 2 cents, from experience and not to scare you. But if you can’t get an epidural don’t let them induce you. Pitocin makes birth way more painful

I think that if I can't get the epidural, my only choice is the natural route. They wouldn't induce me then, but have me come in on my own when labor is starting. I'd hope. I should confirm today. Thank you!

I'm glad you got to go to the temple. ♥

I hope your bloodwork is better/okay. I know lots and lots of people who had really good births without an epidural so I know you'll be okay either way. ♥

Sending love and hearts!

I'm glad also -- though it was disappointing to not have the delicious food stalls this year. That food always just tastes so much better, lol.

Nah, the chances of my having a complicated birth, mostly due to my pre-existing heart condition, is quite high. That's why the doctor pushed for it in the first place, though epidurals are typically frowned upon. Given my previous history, there is a 70% chance I'll black out at the beginning, lol.

I am also boggled by the manicure thing! Hoping your bloodwork came back ok!

They said it's for health reasons, but I can't fathom how a manicure might get in the way of labor.

Happy New Year! :)

Well, Japan hasn't had to deal a lot with Covid yet compared to many other countries, so it's only natural that some people aren't overly worried.
Here, people know. We all know we'll all catch omicron eventually, no matter how many vaccines we've gotten. People are just getting tired of being super careful and isolation, so I guess .... that's the point we've reached right now.

Fingers crossed your next bloodwork shows a better result!

Compared to other countries, we're definitely doing well. However everyone is aware that our numbers are not at all accurate, so we're not sure how much better we're doing in reality.
Here it's more or less the same -- everyone's over it. The government cant push two different narratives and expect people not to feel some kind of way.

We went for kaiten-sushi yesterday and literally none of the customers were following protocol and none of the employees enforced it.

I definitely feel that if not for the Japanese constitution, we'd be under as strict regulations as other countries though. That's what sets us apart. The government doesn't have that liberty.

Unfortunately, things were not good. Only two more weeks till due date, and yet...another 8 appointments. I might as well just rent a room at the hospital, lol.

Sorry to hear that your results weren't that good. Still fingers crossed that everything works out just fine. :)

It is what it is -- you know how it is with re-occurring sicknesses. You get your periods of safety, and then your periods of near-death, lol. As always, I'm sure things will be fine. Just very troublesome.
