Reo turns two months in a week. He hasn't hit some milestones and I suspect something isn't quite right, but no doctor will diagnose for sure at only two months. It could all be paranoia though -- the internet can do that to you sometimes. I'm supposed to have a two-month home-visit from the city hall family center soon. I'll try to get some ( Read more... )

that food looks amazing! like I would eat that everyday and never complain. how long did you stay in the hospital?

ps. also I love your idea of teaching Reo Spanish! I imagine it might be hard in a household where only one of the parents speak it? I plan to teach my kids Russian because that's the language that my mom speaks and hopefully she can help me babysit etc, but my husband only speaks English and I fear it might be hard for me. My Russian pronunciation is not the best, though I speak it fluently and can read and write but teaching someone Russian is also very very hard so I'm really uncertain of my success, heh.

A little over a week. I'm not a big eater but I looked forward to every meal!

I don't know. Both of my parents first language is Spanish but my father learned English in school and the military. He wanted us to be bilingual too, so they decided my dad would only use English, and my mom Spanish because she doesn't know English. We also had bilingual schooling. My siblings and I are fluent in both equally now.

Because of our environment, Japanese will without a doubt be Reo's stronger language, but my only using Spanish gives him a base. He won't be fluent, I think but it's worth a try.

That hospital food looks amazing! I don’t know a ton about Japanese food to know what I’m looking at but it looks so good!
What are your concerns with the baby’s milestones?

He tends to favor looking left and it's a hassle to make him move his head to the right. So, he doesn't follow toys in line of sight all the way, for example.

The doctor said it's not an issue at the moment, but I personaly feel it's preventing him from building neck strength.

Oh okay. I wouldn’t be too concerned yet as the doctor said, but I’d keep working on it :) you’re going to be an amazing mom!!

Hopefully he'll get better at it. The maternity hospital (Not the new clinic we attend now) was the one that told me it was a problem and made me worried....so having another doctor say differently makes me feel a bit insecure... but we just have to wait and see!

Thanks!
