[The setting? A round arena that looks like it's for some kind of odd sport of some kind, possibly a variation of team tennis without the net or something, at first glance - the random generic people in the stands (almost all of whom are wearing a uniform of either blue, yellow, or red) also help to indicate this to be the case. [You have a curious audience.]

It's called Duel Monsters.

[Given the curiosity, as well as the fact that no one else he's brought it up to on this ship has ever heard of it, Manjoume's going to take a wild guess and assume that you've never heard of it either. He's getting used to that, more or less.]

Looks like it comes equipped with a tournament. Is it big where you come from?

[He nods.] To the point where there are schools where duelists can improve their skill and study different aspects of it - some people go on to be in the Pro Leagues, others become artists or get a job in researching its origins. I'm near the top of my class.

[Ok, the Tin Pin Slammer is impressed. Tin Pin's not as flashy as this, but it's still big where she's from.]

[He notices that you're impressed, and shoots a small smirk.]

That duel was nothing special.

Tin Pin Slammer? [hints of what could possibly be mild curiosity] Never heard of that.

What in the fuck are you even playing? Looks like some stupid fucking card game that the elementary school kids play, but with hologram monsters. Kekeke, so lame!

[You dare to call it a lame children's card game? XD Manjoume's just going to stare at you now.]

It's called Duel Monsters, and I'll have you know it's a professional sport where I come from.

Professional? Che. Most professionals don't narrate their every action!

Try a REAL card game. Like Poker.

That's how Duel Monsters works - how would you know that my dragon was attacking if I didn't say so?

[Currently unimpressed by the sheer showiness of the game and the virtual audience.]

[Well, admittedly, the audience could have had more effort put into it to make it less generic, but Manjoume didn't feel like putting the effort in, so.

And if you're unimpressed by the game, he's not going to consider that his problem.]

[ Privately agrees with the person swearing above. ]

You announce their actions out of tradition, necessity, or politeness?

That's just how it works. No one would know that I was attacking unless I declared my monster's attack, now would they?
