Miniature Cookies Post

These are all the cookies I managed to get finished for Doll North this year :3 These are all 1/3 scale done in a mixture of air dry clays. I tried to cover all holidays and seasons in both chocolate and vanilla.

This was my first time doing air dry icing and let me tell you how much of a pain in the ass it is. Trying to get the right consitancy is like trying to get the perfect temp in the shower. And I did not account for color changes. There was significant darkening during drying. My witch hats are supposed to be purple but damn near went black. Not to mention the typical shrinkage. I had to keep it thin to make it as smooth as possible but making it too thin, makes it dry too thin. So it really had to be piled on, sometimes multiple times. I did have a thickening powder but it was near useless. I also had to apply it all from the end of a needle.

I did have 1/3 scale gingerbread and 1/4 scale cookies but did not get them shaded or iced before the con. So the blanks are hanging out in the container still. I'm working on more of the Halloween packs in orange and black bases. And as soon as I can restock my mold putty, I will get to sculpting new shapes. I especially want to do cute summer ones.

I've been trying to avoid doing typical common cookies. Everyone and their mother does chocolate chip. Chocolate chip cookies and macarons. I've seen so many they're boring to me now. Though I did do macaron molds because halloween ones with icing I will do. How awesome would these be in 1/3?

I actually want to make some little scones to go with some little tea sets I have. You really don't see those in miniature.
