I'm thinking of changing my journal theme, but I'm wondering if it's easy to get rid of the tag cloud most themes have. I just really hate having it there on the side and would rather hide it.
I use the tags for myself but I really doubt anyone has any use for them. and I just don't like the way the tags look in the cloud and the list is way too long because I have too many tags.
Love the new layout! It sounds like whisperwords has given you the right idea for this problem already, but if you can't figure out a coding issue in future, you could do worse than to check out 'mentahelada,' the journal of the girl who made my layout. Because:
1. The layouts are cool.
2. She's small-time and also a nice person and so is not too hoity-toity to trouble-shoot code problems for individuals. I had a reeeally stupid question for her when my layout broke a while back, and she was incredibly helpful. She might be able to tell you other ways to customize, too.
I haven't been real brave with customization, but I did make a few code changes of my own. (Like, I got rid of a border I thought was too busy, and I added frames for icons in comments). I just made sure I kept a copy of the original code in an open window, then saved changes, checked them, altered them, saved them again, checked them again - etc.
I'm still getting used to this one. I might try to tweak the code because I'd like the main section to be wider and I'd like lines or something between entries. but I'm also lazy and don't really know how to do any of that, so either I'll stick with this or try something new.
Hi! This is Tad Williams. Please excuse the interruption to your regularly scheduled bloggery. People here have mentioned my work, or love fantasy and science fiction, so I just wanted to pop in and say that anyone interested in reading a chapter from my new book, SHADOWRISE, should drop an email to:
deborah.shazam@batnet.com
and we'll send one to you. We won't do anything rotten with your email address, either, we promise.
