webspace?

quick post while I'm thinking about it:

anyone have any webspace recommendations? I'm losing Bethany's space soonish and I figured I might as well get my own dotcom. I'm mostly looking for wherever's cheapest as I won't be using a lot of space (mostly just hosting my online resumé and sometimes other random things).

Pro Rata uses HostGator.com, which seems to be pretty reliable. They're $4.95 a month for their basic plan. I use PHPWebhosting.com for my site, and have used them since 2000. They're $9.95 a month.

Are those prices just for hosting, or do they include name resgistration?

They're for just the hosting. Name registration is pretty cheap. I go through Dotster for mine, and it's $14.99 a year, I think.

I use Dreamhost for my two personal domains, and the website I work for uses it as well. They give me a humongous amount of webspace, and unlimited bandwidth, and I never really had any problems with them. It's about $10 a month, and they give you a free domain registration.

BTW, I have a couple of discount coupons listed in my userinfo, though they're only good for yearly payments.

You can get hosting at dotster.com along with a $15/yr domain name for $5.75 a month. I haven't tried it myself, though.
