Fonts!

Anybody out there love and adore fonts? One of the classes I am teaching starts focusing on them a lot over the next 5 weeks, and I know there are some very creative people out there that might have some insights or thoughts that I would be delighted to share with my class.

I would greatly appreciate it, and I'm sure my students would as well! :)

I am in love with Times New Roman and want to have its 12 pt. baby. Seriously, it's so easy to read, so clean, and people who submit things to me should always use it. Arial is also acceptable, but I will say, "Pah!" as I read it.

I know you probably always have it in there, but could you please, please mention something about the fact that there is such a thing as using too many fonts in a document?

I'm personally an advocate of the "no more than one serif and one sans serif," with one as headings and the other as body text...

Yeah, I've mentioned that pretty much any time we discuss designing a document. It's one of my pet peeves as well, so we do discuss that a number of times. We will likely be covering it again... :)

Hrm... Desktop publishing standards say no more than 2 'complimenting' fonts.
