Wow, I never realized why they carry two swords honestly. I loved watching Rurouni Kenshin. I eventually read the manga too.

Katanas are truly fearsome weapons. It's said that swordsmiths put their souls and feelings into what they make. If their soul and the samurai's soul resonates, then it's truly scary to behold.

Ahhh, the wakizashi. An interesting short weapon. So, in a sense, if the katana is broken during battle, I assume the wakizashi starts to become a necessity, correct?

Have you ever read Gintama? It's an interesting & funny look at how samurai try to live in modern society, looking for jobs and whatnot.

Oh yeash, RK's manga was way better than the anime!

Yeah, It really takes weeks to months to make a truly masterwork Katana, although Katanas can be also mass produced too.

About the Wakizashi, yes. Although Niten masters sometimes use the Katana as a feint and the Wakizashi as a finisher.

Oh yes! Gintama is awesome! A truly modern take on Samurai should they still exist in the modern era. Speaking of which, I am thinking of moving to tumblr and making an entry about the Samurai and the modern era.
