Here are the details for the challenge! Since the original challenge may have been very difficult to depict in a fanart we’ve created a separate challenge for art :)
Fanfiction: A confession between Fye and Kurogane without using the word ‘love’.
The rules for this are that it has to be some sort of confession of love, that at least one of them has to understand what they mean by their ‘confession’ and at no point can the word ‘love’ be used in a romantic context between Kurogane and Fye - references to other couples are fine as is using it casually (eg. ‘Syaoran loves Sakura very much, ne?’ or ‘I’d love to see a film’) but using it in any way that links it to Kurogane and Fye is not, particularly in thoughts or speech (eg. ‘I loved the way he smiled’ or ‘There was something like love in his eyes’ or god forbid ‘I love you’). That’s a bit of a strange and tricky rule so feel free to message either of us if you’re unsure :) Just think of it as a scene where it clicks to one of them that they’re in love without using any typical romantic language.
We’re sticking a word limit on it of 500-2000 words to keep everything as fair as possible and create more focus on the actual confessions themselves. Obviously we won’t get too picky about exact numbers but please try to get it within that bracket! If you fall dramatically out with that bracket then you won’t be eligible for the poll but we may still include you in a compilation of entries :)

It sounds slightly crueler than the fanfiction challenge but I think both require quite a bit of creativity and an understanding of the characters. Come and complain if you feel it isn’t fair but for the moment, this is our challenge! The rules are ... well no kissing, hugging or hand-holding. I don’t think I can complicate it more than that other to say the gist is no romantic bodily contact - you’ll have to be more creative at picturing them expressing their love for one another! Once again, please message either of us with any questions! :)
We can’t exactly put a limit on fanart like we can on fanfiction but the guidelines are no doodles or rough sketches and equally nothing incredibly elaborate or time-consuming. It’s not so much that we want to limit you - more that we want to make the entries as equal as possible when it comes to comparing them!
Entries can be canon-verse or AU, crack, angst, fluff, romance, whatever and any sort of rating so long as you give due warning! And preferably nothing explicit as a way or getting round ‘no kissing’ in fanart because that’s cheating xD You will only be allowed one entry per category but if you wind up writing or drawing more then feel free to post it although it won't be allowed into the challenge poll!
Entries must be sent in ideally before February 14th however we will run it until February 21st! After this we’ll set up a poll voting for fanart and fanfiction in separate categories if you’re willing to enter voting and this will close on February 25th. At the moment neither of us can guarantee prizes however we will consider them depending on the number of entries. They’ll probably be request fics and/or fanart :)
As for entering, simply send us a link to your entry via comment, email or PM and state whether you’d like to enter the poll or not. You’re free to post your entry wherever you like so long as we obtain a link to it somehow so we can compile a list. We’ll be posting up links to the entries on the dear_kurochan comm for easy reference!
