Title: New York (this is the prequel to
PATIENCE, showing Blaine's pov)
Music: Paloma Faith - "New York"
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Up till 3x06
Pairings: Kurt x Blaine, with a dose of Hummelberry friendship
Warnings: None
Summary:
Kurt is leaving for New York, but the one who accompanies him will be Rachel, not Blaine. As the best friends spend more and more time together preparing for their NYADA admission, Blaine can't help but feel he is being replaced by Rachel. The most important person in his life is drifting away, and Blaine isn't sure if there is anything can do about it.
So, here it is - the prequel to my other Klaine fanvid
PATIENCE. The idea for this struck me whilst I was working on the other one, that's why part 2 came before part 1! To not spoil/misguide your interpretation of the story, I'll leave my notes after the vid. :)

Author’s Notes: (Eeeek, wall of text alert! D:)
1) How I wish I have a title for this story. Now no one will know this is a two parter. Bleh.
2) Kurt / Blaine / Rachel relationship
I'm aware it is easy to interpret the message as Rachel is stealing Kurt away / Kurt would rather spend time with Rachel / bitch is making another vid that breaks Klaine up. But that is not the story I'm trying to tell. What I want to show is jealousy, and how that can twist someone's perspective.
I'm sure most of us have experienced something similar - your best friend has a night out some other friends, they have a great time, plaster the photos all over their blogs and have long convos on FB walls exchanging inside jokes. Such things are common and trivial, but all of a sudden, you feel alienated and unwanted. You ponder if your friend has a better time with them than you. You might even question whether this is the beginning of the end for you two....
And that's how I imagine Blaine would feel as Kurt's senior year near its end. Kurt would be spending many hours with Rachel talking, planning, preparing, dreaming about life in New York. Blaine, who doesn't have a role in their new life, would feel isolated and abandoned, envying Rachel's "special" bond with Kurt whilst dreading the impending day of separation.
3) Blaine without Kurt
Kurt is the anchor of Blaine's life. His parents (or at least his father) are ashamed of his sexuality, he is not fully accepted by the Glee club and he has no close friends at McKinley. Without Kurt, he loses his one source of love, appreciation and happiness. It is quite possible that the negativity could break him and push him down a destructive path (like Quinn).

And those are my reasons for making this vid the way it is!
