The posting for the Kurt Big Bang will begin tomorrow!

How it will work:

Like many other big bangs, I (your mod) will archive the fics and art on a site and post to the community with a link to it. At the bottom of that page will be a link to bring you back to the LJ post where people can comment on both the fic and art. Over the next two weeks, ( Read more... )

Yay! I'm so excited that posting has started!

I was wondering if the the pages for the fic could be switched to colors with a greater contrast. Right now, the background and text color are very close together, and difficult to read for long periods of time.

That might just be me tho. :/

Hmm... I've been wondering about the colors too. The problem is that reading from a screen for long periods of time with a higher contrast between the text and the background still gives headaches... and sometimes makes you see spots. :S

If you use Safari, viewing it in Reader mode can help (black text on white background). For Challenges, it works great... but it doesn't work as well with today's post - it squishes and stretches my beautiful tables which can apparently only be best viewed in full screen. Also, it robs me of the use of font color for emphasis effect.

Grr. Argh. I'll tinker with the formatting and code some more. Maybe I'll figure something out. XD

Thank you for bringing it up, though. I do want to make sure it's enjoyable to *facepalm* through the spectrum of browsers, screen resolutions, etc. ♥

Reading on a white background for a long time can do that because it's just so bright. I thought that the white text that was used worked pretty well against the current background color (and I like the gray theme of the whole site :), so that might be one to try and see if you like it. This site (http://snook.ca/technical/colour_contrast/colour.html) has a tool for checking to see if colors have enough contrast to be read easily.

I've got firefox, but I'll have to see if it had a similar reader mode.

Don't worry too much over it, it's not a huge deal or anything. You've put a lot of work into getting this whole thing done and getting them all posted!

Thank you for that link. It was very helpful. :)

I've changed the colors to have a higher contrast ratio and I've made them available in two versions: light text on a dark background and dark text on a light background.

Hopefully, it's easier to read now. ♥

:( off-site posting. my biggest pet-peeve in big bang challenges. and like niniblack the contrast is really hard for me to read. sadness.
