I know people who'll swear by lighttpd. I don't have much experience with it myself, but I know that the apache stuff is hella complicated

Every time I have to dig around in Apache, I'm amazed at how much more complicated and difficult to work with it's become since the *last* time I've had to deal with it. Next time we have to do anything with setting up an httpd server, here at work, I'm bidding to spend time seeing if lighttpd is a better choice. Apache just can't seem to build functionality in without also adding complexity and frustration in equal measures. : /
