Guidelines for submitting pieces for claims, not the final work:
- Participants who are under 18 will be required to restrict the rating of their works accordingly. LJ has strict policies regarding explicit content and minors, and the mods have no choice but to uphold those policies.
- All artists will be required to have/obtain a LiveJournal account, from which they can post (links to) their final works to
kurtofskyrebang when posting begins. - Art pieces should be completed drafts. You may still make changes, but the art should be complete enough that a writer could work from it even if no changes are made.
- Prelims/first drafts of your pieces are due by 12.8.2012 so that we can put everything together in a claims post for 12.15.2012.
- Submissions for claims should be sent to kurtofskyrebang@gmail.com with the subject: Art Submission. Send as an attachment.
- Artists and writers, it is your job to keep in touch with each other to make sure you're on the same page once claims have ended. We strongly recommend that you stay in contact with each other to avoid confusion or problems with finished products due to poor communication. Writers, we cannot stress enough how important it is to ask for WIPs from your artists from time to time. If you have a question or want to make sure something is okay to put in your fic, it is not a crime to ask your artist! This also means that artists should always alert their writers if they make big changes to their art, or have created more pieces since claims.
- Tying into the last guideline, please be courteous to your artists by not making drastic changes too close to the deadline. That's a lot of pressure to put on someone. However, claims happen late in enough that this should not be an issue.
- There is no maximum size for art. The minimum is 800x600 per piece and the minimum number of pieces is two; fanvids should be at least 30 seconds long.
- Make sure to include a 120x60, safe for work thumbnail.
- Images formats accepted: PNG, JPG, and GIF.
- Video formats accepted: AVI, MOV, MPG, and WMV.
- Remember not to upload your art anywhere until after the KRB is over.
- If your filesize is too large for an attachment, you may upload it to somewhere like Megaupload (no Youtube posting) and email us the link.
- Please label your submission files as: yourLJname_kurtofskyrebang.jpg or yourLJname_kurtofskyrebang.avi. If you have multiple files they should be labeled as yourLJname_kurtofskyrebang1.png, yourLJname_kurtofskyrebang2.png, etc. If you signed up and do not have an LJ account, just use the online handle you signed up with as your name.
- Participants found tracing or altering caps, other fanart, photos, etc. and claiming it as traditional or digital drawn art will be disqualified and banned from future participation. Obviously, people doing manips are free to alter caps and photos as they please for their submissions, as it is a separate category.
You must include the following information in the body of your e-mail:
Livejournal/Sign-up Name:
Art Rating(s):
Highest fic rating you're comfortable with:
Warnings: (please indicate whether this prompt contains: Graphic Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con or Underage Content, in addition to any other warnings you think are necessary.)
Genres: (if applicable)
Title of prompt: (optional)
Short description of art piece(s):
REMEMBER: You can drop whenever you need to, at any point in this fest. We're not going to force you to complete it. However, dropping within two weeks of the final deadline will result in your disqualification from participating in the next round. So, please, use discretion when thinking about dropping, and don't put it off until the last minute; dropping very late in a fest is generally not the nicest thing to do and leaves your claimee a little screwed.
In addition, if you need to drop it is your job to let your artist know, so please don't forget! It's a pretty nasty surprise for a participant to realize on their posting day that their artist/writer has dropped.
