Alright, well I was gonna make my own post about what we did for Valentine's Day, but I liked Bob's and I'm lazy, so I figured I'd just copy his instead. *grins*
Wow. Valentine's Day was amazing! Before our date, Kurt gave me my presents. I'll come back to those in a second, because they were UNBELIEVABLE! But first, I'll go through what our date was.....
I wanted to get good, genuine food for our date and since Kurt really likes Italian, I called up my friend Ronnie, who owns probably the best Italian restaurant in Windsor, and he helped get stuff together for me. At the same time, I didn't want to be typical and have dinner in a restaurant. I just wanted to give us something more low-key, since everyone knows me up here....not that I think they'd bother me while I'm on a date, but you never know, and some people really can't help noticing me and looking. I didn't want that. So, Ronnie made us dinner and I picked it up at the restuarant, but not before picking up my camper boat and hitching it to my new SUV!!!! I had Kurt in the truck blindfolded the whole time until I parked beside Lake St. Clair. We went in the boat, where I had real dishes in one of those really nice picnic baskets and a bottle of red wine, and we ate as the sun went down over the lake. It was really pretty outside the windows of the boat, but it was so cold out. I'm glad my boat has a nice place inside where we could eat. I think Kurt really enjoyed it. I hope he did. I'm definitely taking him out on the lake this summer. As far as presents go, I got Kurt a bracelet and gave him a key to my house, but he completely blew me out of the water.....After going on and on and on about how he wasn't good at the whole "picking out gifts" thing, he goes and gets these for me......
Wow! I LOVE MY NEW SUV, BABY!!!!!!! That was beyond super-sweet of you, since I needed one for the kids. And the roses were especially sweet after I read the card and after you told me what they meant (fantasy, new opportunities, and possibilities. He also got them for me because I like blue and because they're unique and beautiful!).....and this is just Valentine's Day!!!! I can't wait for my birthday! (March 8th, hint hint!) But no, Kurt. Really, really, really, you cannot go crazy like that on me for my birthday. You really can't. I'm too spoiled.
Today, Kurt and I slept in (we were up a little late last night....) but this afternoon, we took my new SUV over to Jen's to pick up Brady for his birthday. As expected, he wanted to go skating and play a little hockey with his dad. Molly wanted to go skating, too, so we brought her along with us while Jen kept Emma and Lola. Brady really liked his presents and he had a lot of fun tossing the puck around with Kurt and I. He really opened up to Kurt and sadly, I can't remember the last time I really saw him that happy for that long of a stretch of time. It was really awesome to watch them connect like that, and I was honestly a little shocked to see what Molly can do on her skates now. I mean, I always thought she was a great little figure skater, but it's really cool to watch her spin and jump and do all that amazing stuff she does. It's also a little nerve-wracking. I'm constantly afraid she's going to fall, but she's a pretty tough cookie, so maybe I shouldn't worry so much. We took them out for dinner at Brady's favorite pizza place, even though Kurt and I probably didn't need that. It was his birthday, I couldn't deny him. At least we didn't eat cake and ice cream. Jen took care of that.
...
So needless to say it was a really wonderful Valentine's. Yeah I went a bit overboard on the SUV, but he deserves to be spoiled. Plus, it was a practical gift. You can't be mad at a guy for that right? *chuckles* And the flowers. Well I wanted to get something a little more unique and special for him than the standard red rose. So that's where the blue came in, which was two-fold as Bob mentioned above.
And I loved his gifts. I haven't even taken the
off. Except to shower. I probably shouldn't wear it all the time though. I'm thinking it was pretty expensive. *chuckles* Wouldn't want anything to happen to it. Dinner was amazing. So nice. I can't even...wow. *laughs* And just...being alone with him out there. That's what made it really wonderful. And he gave me a key to his place. I really liked that one as well. Obviously. *smiles*
Quite the perfect day.
