That was...really, really good. It reminds me of that movie, The Island (the concept, anyway). And it was so heartbreaking. Made my eyes a bit moist.

Thank you very much for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've heard so much about The Island, but I've never actually watched it... though from what I've heard it's very good.

Thanks again!

Wow... This looks like a text that should be taught in schools. I can't find my words anymore. It's that great.

And it's so familiar, I don't know why.

Thank you for your kind words. Really, they're too kind...

Perhaps you've read Never Let Me Go or watched its film adaptation before? Or at least other pieces inspired by it? I drew heavily on the terminology and some symbols/motifs present in the novel.

Thanks again for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've never read Never Let Me Go or watched its movie adaptation, so it must be some similar work that I've read. Or somehow I've felt it through the human collective memory, but that's less likely.

I've just read an excerpt of NLMG and I'm now sure that it wasn't it. The content may have similitude, but the expression, not so much. The feel is different. It's the expression of ideas in this fic that created such resonance in me. You writing, your style, your expression of ideas is what I felt that I have seen somewhere in my childhood yet my memory tells me I probably have not. I'm thinking of The Giver, but that wasn't exactly it either.

Either way, I love this fic. Don't stop writing.

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm happy that you enjoyed the read.

I'm fascinated by the idea of cloning and what makes someone/thing human, and the first movie was the first insight I got into the issue. Even as I've expanded my horizons with novels like Never Let Me Go, Mewtwo's struggle to find where he belonged have stayed with me. The first movie was definitely my favorite and one of the only decent ones, in my opinion, so having you compare this piece to it in a positive light makes me feel great.

Thanks again!
