Frustrated

Phoenix was horrible today.  He acted like he had never seen a halter before, never been lunged before, and had never been lead before.  I worked with him, and it was a pretty long battle just to get him to WALK beside me.  I'm not a horse trainer, nor do I pretend to be one.  A very close friend of mine promised when I got him that she'd help me, ( Read more... )

Probably not, although- that person we both know did offer to train Phoenix for me and I nipped that idea fast. Be glad you don't know the two I'm talking about, they suck.

Your so-called friend, not you. While I completely agree that some people should not own horses, I don't think you are one of them. And I don't think the know-it-all attitude is helpful to anybody. If your "friend" knows so much about working with rescue horse, why don't you invite her to come over and see how she does?

Ha, it certainly would be a sight to see her try and work with a horse that wasn't touched At. All. for all 4 years of his life. This girl has a very 'high and mighty' attitude, but she can barely handle her well trained horses.

Why am I not surprised. It's usually those who know very little about handling horses that try to convince you that they have all the answers.
