At least my Liss reads me, why I don't know...she can just talk to me any old time.

I just checked out your info after you posted in kung fu. Have you ever checked out the book The Dao Of Zen? It's really good. It kind of compares Zen Buddhism and Taoism and shows the the origins of zen in taoism and how Mahayan and zen are pretty oposing and how zen is just taoism with a veil of buddhism. I'm more on the Taoism tip myself.

Ray Grigg is the author. It's funny because the parts I've been reading most are about how zen and the Dao can't be understood with words and how words ultimatly fail us because launguage defines itself and there's no room to step outside of language to define it. It's kind of a zen and Taoism 101 too. Just lots of good basic stuff. Kung fu is full of improvisation. We learn layer upon layer of applications for each technique in a form. The problem with TKD and Karate is they often don't know the application behind the movements in their forms. I never really learned application from my TKD and Shotokan forms when I did american karate. I had to delve deeper and I've learned a lot from my current sifu.

You're completely right, the TRUE ideals of both Buddhism and the Tao, simply cannot be put into words. It's a feeling, a general, vague understanding...while at the same time, it's much much more than that. I've tried explaining my beliefs in "god", or life, or however you'd like to say it...but it's really rather impossible...words do nothing more than shrink the broadened picture of it all.
