Really, though, besides promising myself a couple weeks ago that I wouldn't go to Snoqualmie again for another 7 years, I shouldn't spend the money. If you wanted to head down to Crystal, I happen to have a pass that I could use, and I'm not sure that there's a better day than tomorrow to go there.
Tomorrow won't work for me, but I wanted to start skiing this month (being a rank beginner, having skied only once before, over ten years ago). Do you have any recommendations on how to get started?
For the best teacher to student ratio I'd try to go up during the week. Leave plenty of time for the rental shop (especially on weekends).
Do you inline skate or ice skate? Skating is very similar to skiing. If you have good balance and basic body awareness skiing isn't too hard to learn. After a couple lessons to learn stopping and turning you should be set to practice on your own and ski the beginner slopes with friends.

Both Snoqualmie and Steven's have great deal of equipment rental, lift ticket, and lesson. Here's the info for Snoqualmie http://www.summitatsnoqualmie.com/info/winter/slc_ez_ski_ride_123.asp
