To teach myself other languages, I have begun to gather a collection of religious texts, most notably the "Bible", found in several different tongues in our local church. One thing interests me: the mention of "Eden" at the very beginning. For this place to partially be called that... is life supposed to be perfect? I wonder if we were not meant to ( Read more... )

That does seem to be very deep thinking Phedre.
I think the place is more tuned to the 'beginning' principle. Us gaining back our memories in bits after coming here is more like we're starting over as if this was a new beginning.
Life can not expect to be perfect, to have a perfect human would having an imperfected being. If they were perfect they'd stand above anyone and that, I do not believe, is what the creator intended for us.

It is difficult to understand the creator's intentions. He is... something that is not human, and we humans can only perceive things in tune with what we are.

But knowledge... Why is knowledge the gravest sin? And why make people curious while telling them they cannot have said knowledge? It makes one wonder just what was really meant...

I believe knowledge could not have been the greatest sin, but what knowledge brought them to learn was the greatest sins. All seven of the deadly sins come from a person's way of thinking, and a way of thinking is provided by knowledge.

Yet I believe that all knowledge is worth having. *doesn't realize that she's just echoed her late master* And what people call sins... They may be sins, but the world would not run without them, not if there is nothing of them at all.

I think so. Though this place... Can it really be called "paradise"?

There's something to be said for the unborn.
