Weekend

Well as far as the weekend went, as per usual, I didn't do all that much. I did however go to a movie. And that movie was Sin City. And all I have to say about that is, if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and see it as soon as you can. It is definitely one of the coolest movies I have ever seen (maybe the coolest). I don't know if I can ( Read more... )

If you haven't already, you should probably hit up some bittorrent site and look for the original comics. It completely amazed me at how faithful the movie was to the original material. It was like every frame/panel from the comic acted as a storyboard for the film.

ok, so here is the question: Who was your favorite character and why?

Good question, and that's pretty difficult for me to say, actually. I liked the "only moral person in Sin City" quality of Hartigan (Bruce Willis' character), and then I always felt sorry for the misunderstood Marv (Mickey Rourke's character), and then Dwight (Clive Owen's character) just exudes cool. ("You made a mistake, too. You forgot to flush.")

It's like Sophie's Choice, only with one more kid. Don't make me choose!

Hahaha. I can see where you're coming from with that. But in the end, I have to go with the big guy. He went out pretty well. Although, I was kind of disappointed that they got to him in the end.

DONT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.

My only complaint about the whole story is that Hartigan didn't finish his job. And by that, I mean that he didnt stop the mayor and put an end to that sick family.

And that is probably the only reason he didn't get my vote for favorite character.

He could have finished the job, but it would have been damn near impossible.

"Get Senator Roark behind bars? Sure, and maybe after I've pulled off that miracle, I'll go and punch out God."

Roark had a lot of people on his side that getting him arrested would have been folly. On that same tangent, you'd think a guy like that can afford bodyguards so killing him would be pretty tough. Hartigan doesn't possess Marv's insanity to quite pull that off, I think.

I think what I liked about Hartigan was that he was definitely the samurai (I stole that term from someone else's review) out of the bunch. He's the most moral character in Sin City, and as a result he's the one who suffers the most out of all of them.

Also, you've got to admit, that scene where (highlight the following text) Junior (That Yellow Bastard) left Hartigan hanging in the motel room and they faked you out into thinking he was dead for two seconds was pretty kickin' rad.
