Ever since that day, Ryutaro made sure to distract Chinen when Takaki and Yamada were around together.
He would pull the boy out of the room, saying that they should get a snack, or a drink, or something, and Chinen would just let Ryutaro pull him out.
It been a few weeks now, since Takaki rejected Chinen.
Ryutaro and Chinen were sitting on a bench at the part, drinking some hot chocolate that the younger bought them. They had big jackets on, since it was so cold outside, snow falling down slowly.
"Ryu..." Ryutaro looked at the older, hearing him call his name. "I just...wanted to say, thank you." Chinen smiled lightly at him.
"For what?"
Chinen got up, taking the youngers empty cup, and throwing the cups in the trash. He walked back over, sitting closer to Ryutaro. "For distracting me when Yuyan and Yama-chan are together."
"Eh? You noticed I was doing that?"
Chinen nodded. "Yeah, its really sweet of you. I just...thank you, really Ryu." Chinen smiled at the younger.
"Um...i-its not a problem...I just...hate seeing you sad..."
There was a silence spread through the air. It was like the world stopped, as they sat there, staring at each other. Ryutaro could feel his heart to start beating fast. "U-um...Chii..." Ryutaro cleared his throat, trying to push his nervousness down. It wasn't helping, that Chinen was tilted his head, still looking at him. "You want to know...why I asked Takaki...to reject you...?"
Chinen slowly nodded. "Yeah..."
Ryutaro broke the eye contact, looking down at his hands. "Ok...its because..." Ryutaro bite his bottom lip. "I really...like you..."
He looked up, after hearing Chinen giggle. "Ryu is cute when he is blushing."
"Eh...i'm not..." Ryutaro brought his hands to his face, feeling the heat on them. "I...just...um..."
"Ryu..." Ryutaro looked up, seeing Chinen reaching for his hands. "I think...i'm starting to have feelings for you to. I mean, I feel safe, and comfortable around you. You make me smile, when I feel down." Chinen took Ryutaro's hands in his, holding onto them. "I dont' know why I never relized it before, and i'm sorry, but...I know that I want to be close to you all the time...when your not around, I feel sad, and lonely."
"Chii...r-really?"
Chinen nodded. "Yeah. I think...I was just to worried about getting Yuyan to like me, that I didn't realize that there was a great person...right in front of me."
Ryutaro smiled, letting out the air that he didn't realize he was holding. "Chii..." He took one of his hands out of the olders, and brushed some hair from Chinen's face. "I love you..."
Chinen looked down. "I...don't know if I love you yet...but...I do like you..."
"Thats fine Chii...I can wait a little longer for your love."
Chinen smiled, and hugged Ryutaro. "Thank you Ryu...I know...it won't take long...since your such a sweet person."
He looked into Ryutaro's eyes again, and the younger started leaning foward. Slowly, he pressed his lips against Chinen's.
Chinen's eyes fluttered shut, and he wrapped his arms around Ryutaro's neck.
