It was a few days before February 14th, the day Takaki hated the most. He would get tons go girls, and boys, giving him chocolate, even though they all knew he would reject them. No one knew why he rejected them all though.
He sighed, stretching out on the bed he was laying on. "Dai-chan, I should skip school on the 14th."
His childhood friend, Arioka Daiki, was sitting at his desk, working on his homework, look over at him. "Why don't you just give one of them a chance?"
"I don't want chocolate from any of them though. I don't want to date them..."
"Well, who do you want to date then?" Daiki went back to the paper on the desk.
"You."
Daiki froze, feeling his cheeks heat up, and his heart racing. "W-What? Your joking again Yuya, stop it."
Takaki sighed again, every time he confessed to Daiki, the younger took it as a joke. "I am not joking Daiki." He got off the bed, walking over to the younger. He placed his hands on the desk, leaning against Daiki's back, their faces beside each others. "I really do like you Daiki, and i'm tired of you thinking I'm joking every time I say so." He pressed his lips against Daiki's cheek, staying there for a few seconds, before pulling away, and leaving.
Hearing the door shut, Daiki let out the breath that he didn't realize he was holding in. His whole face was red, heart beating like crazy. He laid his head on the desk, clutching at his chest, wanting his heart to stop beating so fast. He actually did like Takaki to, but never thought he'd like Daiki back, when he could choose between anyone he wanted.
It was awkward between to two the next few days, Daiki didn't know how to act around him now. It was the 14th, and finally the day was over. Takaki sighed, thankful that the day was finally over. He was disappointed that he didn't receive anything from Daiki though, he didn't even talk to him all day. "Yuya." He quickly turned around, knowing that voice. He saw Daiki standing a few feet away, looking at the ground.
"Dai-chan? What's wrong?"
"Um..." Daiki refused to look up, shuffling his feet against the ground. "I didn't want to do it in front of everyone..." He pulled a small red box from his bag, stretching it out towards the older boy.
"For me?" Daiki nodded. Takaki smiled, taking the box. He untied the ribbon, and opened it, seeing chocolate place nicely inside. "Daiki...does that mean...?"
"I like you to."
Takaki closed the box, and went to the other, hugging him tightly. "Thank you Daiki." He felt Daiki's arms wrap around him, and his face go against his chest. "Daiki, look at me."
"No. Its embarrassing."
"Then close your eyes, because I'm going to kiss you either way." Takaki took Daiki's chin, lifting his face, which was bright red, and his eyes were closed. "You're so cute Daiki." He then leaned in, pressing their lips together.
He smiled, thinking that maybe Valentine's day wasn't so bad...
