Note: This was my first Pinto bunny, way back when, so am glad to say I finally wrote it, it is a little cracky.

Chris has never experienced terror until faced with the two pintsized blondes looking up at him with narrowed eyes.
He so knew this was going to be a bad idea, but Zach had insisted.
“Cast and friends. At my house.” He’d said firmly, “Kristen will be here. She wants to finally meet you.”
And so he goes. It is fine to begin with, he gets there early to help Zach set up and in return Zach bestows him with plenty of useful advice.
“Don’t drink anything Milo or Adrian offer you, Hayden is a good kid, but, just to warn you, I think she has a crush on you, and she is rather a force of nature when she wants something, don’t let Sendhil corner you when he’s drunk, I adore the guy but when he starts on one of his tales, literally there is no stopping him…”
Chris mostly nods and fetches things, but he can feel that Zach is a little apprehensive and so he too feels uneasy.
It is a couple of hours into the party, he is making himself another drink, and a strong one at that, when he is first accosted. Now, women tend to do that to him on a regular basis, that in itself is not out of the ordinary. What is rather unusual is the less than friendly way they are looking at him.
He was introduced to both Hayden and Kristen right at the start of the evening and they seemed pleasant enough at the time, but he is less sure of that now.
“Hello, having a good night?” he tries his best winning smile, the one that crinkles his eyes, as he’s been told that it makes women weak in the knees.
It doesn’t appear to work.
“Listen Pine,” Kirsten shakes her finger right at his face, “You seem like an all right guy, but you break his heart and we will find you.”
Chris laughs at that, unsure how else to react, “I don’t even, what are you…?”
Hayden smiles sweetly up at him, which oddly rather suits her death glare, Zach must have been very wrong about that crush “No need to act stupid, Chris, we’ve seen the nauseating way you look at each other, but we love Zach and maybe she is drunk, but we are not kidding.”
Before Chris can think of an appropriate response, he is saved from the Bell by Zach’s very timely approach.
“There you are my man, I am glad you are mingling, but I need to show you something.” Zach beams at them, and stands close to Chris, bumping shoulders in greeting; personal space is never an issue with them “I hope you girls don’t mind if I steal him away for a little while.”
They nod and shrug, but Kristen is doing a raised-eyebrow, cut-throat motion when Chris looks back at her. The girl is clearly insane, and he is not sure what he’s done to offend her, but he understands why Zach adores her so.
For the next hour Chris sticks close to Zach, who is truly in his element, the epitome of a gracious host, laughing and talking to everybody, while still managing to keep close to Chris, close enough to touch, only not quite. He even tries to get Chris to dance. Chris refuses, but gets them more drinks and watches Zach dance. He isn’t a particularly skilled dancer but he emits a certain grace that comes from being entirely comfortable in his skin which makes him really fucking sexy and Chris can’t quite look away.
Chris is having a good time and if his chest feels a little tight and he drinks too much, it is a low price to pay for the company. He is even almost able to forget the strange incident with the angry blondes, until he is waiting his turn for the bathroom that is.
He’s been waiting for a while, and he really needs to piss dammit, but it’s not to be. When the door eventually opens, Milo and Adrian come out, laughing. Milo notices him first and elbows Adrian with a pointed nod towards Chris, they share a look Chris doesn’t understand and turn in unison towards him.
“So, Chris” Adrian says, “Don’t you think it’s time to have a little chat?”
It is fairly dark so the sunglasses Milo is wearing are entirely unnecessary, unless he is going for subtle intimidation, in which case they work startlingly well. Until Chris notices that the buttons of Milo’s black button-up are not correctly buttoned up and his lips are unusually red, that is. Huh. He looks at Adrian for signs of conformation, but everything up to and including Adrian’s smile appears the epitome of cool and collected. He had just wanted to piss. But he can play their game if needs be.
“A chat? What is this, the Italian mafia?” Chris leans against the cool wall, in his best Kirk-I am about to get my ass kicked and enjoy it-impression.
They both laugh at that, “A funny guy, that’s good. We didn’t know you were a fan of the show.” Milo says.
And Chris isn’t a fan exactly, he saw only a couple of episodes when this first season aired, but then a few months back he bought the entire thing on DVD and watched all of Zach’s scenes, not that anyone knows about that. He’s been very careful, hiding the disks amongst his porn. He has some semblance of dignity after all.
“I’m not really. What do you want to talk about?”
“You and Zach. Zach and you.”
Hours later, the party is winding down and Chris staggers out into the garden, it is a warm Californian evening and he pretends he can see the stars. He cannot, but the quiet stillness is very appealing and so he sits on the chair swing swinging gently until he feels dizzy. The soft breeze is a little sobering, and his mind is reeling. He can ignore the first incident, but unless this is some sort of elaborate joke, the oddness had only one logical conclusion. Grunny had winked at him, some guy he didn’t recognise glared and he thinks there was a thumbs up also.
He is so lost in his own head that he only realises he is not alone when he feels the swing moving from the added weight of another person.
“Hi Chris.” Zach says. “I was looking for you, I thought you might have left.” Zach sounds very unsure of himself, which makes Chris feel guilty for fleeing.
“Nah, just hiding from the crowds for a bit.”
“Everyone’s gone now. Was it really that terrible?”
Terrible? No, it was illuminating, he thinks, which is a good word. And also true.
“No, no. It was wonderful, especially the part where all your co-stars seem to be under the impression we are fucking, which I might add, we are very much not.” Chris raises his eyebrows and carries on when Zach doesn’t reply. “Any idea why that would be, Zachary?”
“Oh Jesus, I told them it isn’t true but they didn’t believe me.”
Chris shakes his head sadly, “Not only that, I was threatened on a number of occasions tonight for a crime I haven’t even committed.”
“Look Chris, I’m sorry, they are all a little protective, they know how I…”
“Oh no,” Chris interrupts, “an apology doesn’t quite cut it, Zach, I can see only one remedy for this situation.” Chris pauses slightly to lick his lips and is pleased to see that Zach has followed the movement, he used to do it unconsciously but after discovering the attention it was met with, he’d made sure to lick his lips a little more often than was strictly necessary. “Since I’ve already paid the price, I might as well do the deed.” His voice is careful and light as he speaks, but as soon as he is done, his lips stretch into a soft and hopeful smile.
Zach says nothing, but when he looks at Chris his eyes are luminous and Chris knows that they have finally surpassed the round of joking around and a sudden warmth envelops his body as his heart rate increases. And Zach hasn’t even touched him, god, or even agreed.
“I am serious you know, you don’t have to worry about my intentions, I promised Adrian Pasdar that my intentions are most honourable and one does not break their promise to Adrian Pasdar.”
At that, Zach laughs, open mouthed and happy, “You know Pine, this is the most brilliant idea you’ve ever had, to be sure.” Zach says with his best Spock voice and it is as simple as that and they are kissing.
It is frantic and messy at first, both of them clinging to each other almost desperately, he can feel Zach’s stubble and it is a little unpleasant but his mouth is also impossibly soft and there is no hesitancy in the way he kisses, it is a little dirty, his tongue hot and languid, licking, sucking, biting even. Zach is not at all reserved, hands roving everywhere, Chris's back, down his sides, before settling firmly on his arse and pulling him closer, or as close as possible on the not-big-enough swing and Chris hasn’t gotten that hard that fast since his embarrassing teenage years. And this serves him as a reminder that he is not a teenager and Zach does in fact possess a perfectly good bedroom, and he wants to say so, only Zach is unbuttoning his jeans and pushing him none too gently on his back, which is when the swing makes a loud noise of protest before depositing them both on the ground.
“Fuck!” The grass is soft, but the fall is still a shock and they laugh until they are breathless, and Zach shoves Chris away, but only a little.
“I think that we should move the party to my bed now.” Zach says against Chris’s mouth.
***
It’s almost the afternoon when Chris wakes up with a headache and the sunlight in his eyes. But headache and burning desire for coffee aside, things are pretty fantastic right now, he stretches in bed, shifting closer to the warm body beside him, where he lays contentedly for a little while, but there is one thing he really needs to know.
“Zach?” He whispers loudly.
“Hmm?” Zach grumbles in return.
“Nothing, there is just something I wanted to ask…Milo and Adrian…?”
Zach sighs sleepily and nods. “Indeed.”
Chris gets a little faraway look in his eyes and a smile plays lazily across his lips “I think I just had another brilliant idea.”
“No.” Zach says, fully awake now. “Absolutely not. I need to work with them, it would hardly be professional.”
“Professional? I am not sure that word means what you think it does.” Chris makes a vague hand gesture which encompasses their naked bodies and Zach has to admit defeat.
“We’ll talk about it later,” Is all he says and this not quite acquiescence is rewarded with a rather enthusiastic good morning kiss in return.

CFine picspam is rather lovely and one particular picture is a little relevant, so I am adding it here.
