LOVE it! Not only do I save money on postage, but I also don't have to worry about whether or not the check got there (the Philadelphia postal system is horrible and loses mail 5 times out of 10, and/or takes 2-3 weeks to deliver things). AND I don't have to wait for the company to cash the check (I HATE having un-cashed checks out!), because the money's already taken out of the account.
I absolutely hate my electric company because they don't have any way to pay online, and so I'm paranoid every month because the check gets to them only 90% of the time.
So you live in fear of waking up one morning with no electricity? :) That would be a pain...do you follow up every month to make sure they got the check, or what?
Yes!! I basically call them every month if the check hasn't been cashed after 10 business days, just to make sure they got it! It's HORRIBLE, and since I'm so busy I actually have to set a reminder on my Outlook to make sure I call in time.
i do!! i've never done it any other way. i have my calendar and i check it daily to figure out what cash is going in and what is due, i have a "bills due" calendar and a "bills paid" calendar :)
i don't even get statements in the mail, they are all emailed to me and the statements forwarded in e-form to wells fargo so i can view them online for online bill pay! it's the best!
Yep! Although Rob does the payments, instead of me. I keep telling him we should get all the bills emailed (save the trees!), but he never does. I think he likes receiving paper bills (& apparently keeping them, going by the amount of old bills I threw out while decluttering!), LOL
( ... )
I've never paid bills any other way :P I am really anal about our finances and keep a spreadsheet of all of our current bills, income, and projected bills/income for the next 2 months. Like you said, I love that all I have to do is just make sure the money in our account adds up to what the spreadsheet says it should be!
