Wow, that's some really powerful emotion! It makes sense that Taub would struggle with the guilt, and I like the paternal angle. Nicely written.

Glad that the "paternal angle" made sense to you. That's kind of how I saw Taub in retrospect to Kutner. Kutner was kind of also like an annoying younger brother, but the "father figure" worked best here.

I like how Taub sees Kutner as both boy and man here, how he carefully feels his way through to stop him. I agree with lauriestein, the paternal angle works--Taub has to be strong for both of them.
