 Time for a small rant.

So, I'm a junior in highschool (I'm 16) and there was this ACT seminar that we had to attend on Friday. We had to fill out a million bubbles and write down our college choices, etc etc. And we have to take the ACT on April 27th. After attending that seminar I became so nervous about college. If I get a 24 on the ACT then I ( Read more... )

I graduated early from high school and went to college when I was 16. I wish I had taken some time off to work/travel before I enrolled. You may think that finishing school and getting a job ASAP is the way to go, but as you go through your years at school, you find out that it might take more than four years to get your undergrad and there really isn't much to rush in this economy.

I finished my undergrad and I'm working on another, since I had a complete change of heart about my major. Waste of four years, huh.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do! And don't worry about paying for school, there are lots of decent essay-scholarships around, plus work-study programs. :)

I'm considering taking some time off. I'm still going back and forth on that though. I don't want to say "oh I'm just going to take some time off and go back ASAP" and then never do.

Even if you did have a change of heart it's better to figure it out now and not having to do something you don't like.

And thank you!
This definitely made me feel a little bit better. :)

I took the ACT and I didn't have a chance to prepare much for it, since I was able to take it 2 weeks after I turned 16, so I could go to college ( ... )

This was so helpful! Thank you!

I was also homeschooled for a few years, and I returned to public school this year in my junior year.
I'm guessing I probably will take a year off, especially since I want to spend some time in Virginia before I come back to North Dakota to go to NDSU.

Thanks again. :)

Yep!

I think it's a really good decision to take some time off. That way when you do decide to go to NDSU, you'll be focused and you should hopefully not burn out as fast. :)
