Military style jacket.

So anyway, a few months back I was watching some YouTube footage of The Prodigy playing at the Brixton Academy and there's a sequence where Liam Howlett is casually making his way to the stage. He's wearing a military style jacket, and when I saw it I thought "Chris, you charismatic bastard, that jacket looks awesome. Something of similar style ( Read more... )

I would prefer the option, 'Yes, you'll look like Johnny Bravo'.

Is that a good thing?

I remember a couple of years back I went to Tesco to get some shopping. The fruit and veg area had mirrored walls, and I noticed a guy on the opposite side of the area with blonde hair, aviators, a black t-shirt, jeans, and a comedy v-taper. I thought to myself "What a fucking cock..." and got my shopping together.

A few seconds later, I realised it was my reflection :(

In my defence, I don't usually wear aviators indoors. It was a really sunny day, and I'd literally just walked in.

Hahaha. Yeah, it's a good thing, Johnny Bravo is ACE. But seriously, that jacket is smart, I reckon it'll look pretty good.

I'm 50% liking it, and 50% concerned it could look a bit odd.

That's how I feel about it too. I'm actually the smallest I've been for a good three years or so at the moment, but I still have fairly broad shoulders and a fairly broad back (deadlifting ftw!). It means that with a lot of jackets they look good on models/mannequins but in my size, on me they don't look right unless they're part of a suit. A suit is fine, because there isn't a break in the vertical visual line but with this the jacket wouldn't match my trousers so it'd make my waist to shoulder ratio look exaggerated. Which is about the last thing I need!

I'm not quite sure about that particular jacket. I can't really put it into words..

It's not a great example of what I had in mind, but I can't find anything close to what I originally saw...

Ha,

That would have been perfect last night as I was sat like a (hideously old) moron still working at 10.53pm.

Pass me a nurse immediately!!

I think some military issue jackets are pretty darn fabulous - that one above I'm not too sure of.

I'm a big fan of the "Eisenhower Jacket" myself - and I even have one! Of course mine oddly enough is from the English army, WWII era - something like this -

That's a nice jacket :)

The one I've posted isn't a great example of what I had in mind, but I couldn't find anything closer to what I was thinking of. I was talking to Hayley about it today, and she thought that the style I was thinking of would be fine for a performer or an entertainer, but way too ostentatious for me :/
