Is that based on "I've used an iPhone and a Hero and this is my conclusion" or is that based on "I've used an iPhone"?
Not being a dick, genuine question.
I don't need it, I just saw one yesterday and I quite like it I'm tied in to my contract for another 12 months or thereabouts, so whatever I choose I'd have to buy the handset myself. The Hero is about £350 and the iPhone is about £500. Not sure I can stomach blowing £500 on a phone to be honest... It's not that I can't it's more that I just don't want to.
In terms of what I'd use it for.... Texting, phone calls, multiple email accounts (work, personal, contracting etc.), applications, Web browsing. I'd probably write some software for it too. I'm pretty sure that all of the above are what I'd be able to do with an iPhone too.
I might end up just waiting for my contract to get close to concluding and then switch to the next iteration of the iPhone. The one with the revolutionary new feature of a *gasp* removeable battery ;)

I've used an iPhone but I haven't used a Hero yet.
How does the iPhone handle multiple email accounts and filing contacts. On the latter the Hero seems to aggregate everything about a contact under their profile rather than by function, if that makes sense, which is something that I like.
So if I clicked on you I'd get a history of our calls, texts, emails (Across multiple accounts if applicable), Facebook/Twitter activity etc. all on one series of tabs. Instead of me having to look for stuff by function I'd look for stuff by person.
What is the difference between a Hero and the HD2? I realise one is on Android and the other is on Window Mobile but in terms of practical differences?

Get an iPhone and never look back.
(Or tell us what you need to use it for)

Have you used both? If you have and preferred the Hero then I'd say get it!

It's a nice little phone, does nice things, though I've noticed that sometimes it's non-responsive when unlocking the screen. But it's not too bad.
