im taking a great interest in freerunning as my company provides the majority of the handrail/guardrail practice structures that freerunning uses, its quite fun and gives me an excuse to watch these videos at work for "research" purposes

i remember in the first Daniel Craig James Bond they used quite a lot of this and i was (and am) VERY impressed. don't remember it much before that, though.

Apparently the origins of PK date back to the early 1900's?

Speaking of Casino Royale, I've got a coffee table book that's full of shots from the set. The guy that did the freerunning in it, Sebastien Foucan, is in there and there's a double page spread of him in there with his shirt off. He doesn't look particularly big in clothes but he's really well built. Enormous shoulders, triceps and lats like a cobra hood. He's probably about 10 stone soaking wet but he's in incredibly good shape, as you'd expect.

That's amazing, I never realized it went back as far as that. Did the guy (Sebastien Foucan) actually get a part in the movie or was all that body double stuff? As I recall that guy was a super bad guy that James ended up killing quite spectacularly at the embassy.

10 stone...like 160 lbs? Must check my conversions. If anything we use Kilograms to weigh in our hospital so I don't use the stone conversion nearly enough. If he's really 160 lbs then it must have been a double because at the "killing in the embassy" part the guy was decidedly bigger than Craig, who, I'm pretty sure is larger than 160 lbs.

Yeah, he plays the guy that Bond chases in Madagascar towards the beginning.

10 stone was an estimate. Daniel Craig was around 12 stone in Casino Royale at about 5'10", Foucan was probably about the same or maybe 10 pounds heavier at the absolute most.
