Buying my first big screen TV in 13 years. I am soo nervous. What if we don't get along like my last TV? I want this to last a long time, but I feel like I am just basing this off looks. I'm focusing too much on her picture quality than what inputs and outputs she has ( Read more... )

Plasma is a lot cheaper and my coworker swears by his and says the quality is the same. I frankly don't know that much on this since I only research when I'm about to buy.

Plamsa has better black levels. I don't like what LCD's do to some colors like red.

I'm quite satisfied with my Sony Bravia 40" LCD tv.

I avoided plasmas back when I bought my set because of their tendency to burn into the screen over time. This issue might have been resolved or lessened in the last few years, not sure.

The plasma burn-in issues have greatly improved with the maturation of technology, but I still wouldn't leave one on all day paused or anything.
