I'm sorry, Dr. Weaver, that not all parents and parents of significant others can be as understanding or open-minded about things as they should be.
I know we've never really discussed it before and to be honest, my daughter never really gave me much opportunity to even meet anyone she was involved with but I'd like to believe that if she had, I would have been able to handle things in a manner more becomming than your partner's family apparently have.
